Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka,
officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is an island country
in South Asia, located in the Indian Ocean southwest of the Bay of Bengal and
southeast of the Arabian Sea. Sri Lanka has been called “the pearl of the Indian
ocean” because of its shape and location. It`s a country with high mountains, tropical
forest, lots of wild animals and beautiful beaches.
Sri Lanka is
great for water sport like diving, snorkeling, kiting and surfing. It`s an
island you can stretch your legs taking hikes among tea plantations high up in
the mountains above 2000m.
Sri Lanka is
home to many cultures, languages and ethnicities. The majority of the
population are from the Sinhalese ethnicity, while a large minority of Tamils
have also played an influential role in the island's history. Moors, Burghers,
Malays, Chinese, and the indigenous Vedda are also established groups. Unesco
